Betonmast is one of Norway's leading construction companies. Today, the Betonmast Group consists of nine construction companies and one real estate company. A story that illustrates our philosophy of ownership began with our concern for a supplier with a key product for the Norwegian market. We believed the company was at risk of bankruptcy, but also saw clear challenges, significant opportunities, and strong potential in its products. We acquired an ownership stake and, together with our co-owner, a Canadian private equity firm, successfully completed a turnaround.
Over a period of four years, we appointed a new CEO, changed the sales strategy, significantly improved production, and carried out a court-supervised restructuring to clear away legacy issues and create a stronger foundation for the business.
Throughout the process, we helped safeguard jobs, secure the business, and establish the conditions for long-term success. When the company was ready for its next stage - with new production facilities and significant expansion - we chose to sell our stake to our partner to support the company's continued development, recognizing that our ownership could have become a limitation on the capital required for future growth. We continued our collaboration and maintained the relationship, while stepping away from ownership.
